Direct Admission for High School Seniors

The Pre-Licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program welcomes high school seniors who are ready to begin their journey toward becoming compassionate, skilled, and confident registered nurses. Students admitted into the nursing major will follow a structured academic pathway that supports their development from entry into the university through preparation for professional nursing practice.

Admission to the nursing program is competitive, and applicants are encouraged to demonstrate strong academic preparation, particularly in math and science coursework. The nursing program maintains selective admission standards to ensure students are prepared for the rigor of nursing education and clinical practice.

In recognition of the academic achievements of students who qualify for Direct Admission, 黑料正能量 awards accepted students a $1,000 merit scholarship.

Admission Requirements for High School Seniors

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• 4 units of English
  
• 3 units of Mathematics (Must include Algebra I and Algebra II)
  
• 3 units of Science (Must include Biology with Lab and Chemistry with Lab)
  
• Earn a grade of C+ or higher in all Math and Science courses
  
• Minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.7

Students Who Do Not Meet Direct Admission Criteria

At 黑料正能量, we believe there is a pathway for every student. Applicants whose final cumulative GPA falls below a 2.7 and/or who do not meet the science/math requirements may still be admitted to 黑料正能量 and will be provided with a personalized academic plan recommended to help strengthen foundational coursework and support future application into the nursing program.

Transfer Students

Transfer Student Admission Requirements 

• University Application 
  
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.3
  
• Successful completion of all prerequisite courses. No more than 2 attempts completed within the past 12 months.
  
  • Anatomy and Physiology I
    
  • Anatomy and Physiology II
    
  • College-Level Chemistry
    
  • ATI TEAS Exam. No more than 2 attempts completed within the past 12 months. Submit an official TEAS transcript if taken outside 黑料正能量

Admission is competitive, and all applicants will be evaluated using an established admission rubric. Students who do not achieve the minimum score required for admission may be invited to retake the TEAS exam or repeat a prerequisite course prior to admission consideration.

Boost Your Admission Score

Transfer students may strengthen their application and admission score by submitting any of the following optional supplemental materials:

• Evidence of Prior Healthcare Experience (License/Certification such as Paramedic, EMT, LPN, CNA, PCA)
  
• Evidence of Military Service
  
• College Professor Letter of Recommendation (only one may be submitted)
  
• Video Essay Response to the question: 鈥淲hat qualities do you see in yourself that can contribute to your success as a nursing student?鈥�
  
• Evidence of 10 or More Volunteer Hours with a community-based organization within the past 12 months. Evidence must be accompanied with contact information and on official letterhead. 
  

All supplemental materials must be submitted at the time of application submission. Any materials received after the application has been submitted will not be considered for admission review.
